If there is a Plot Twist Award, it belongs to My Husband's Son. I
never saw it coming, and I had to reread the ending three times to
make sure I had not gone crazy. If you are looking for a fast-paced
story with a gob-smacking twist, look no further, get this book

A stunning and unexpected ending will have you thinking about this
book for a long time

This was a really unique missing child story and I was engrossed
from beginning to end. I was surprised at how quickly I read this
book. I was determined to figure out who did what and why but had
no luck in figuring it out and was surprised at what really
happened (...)this was a really well written debut novel. A
gripping and well-paced psychological thriller. And I was really
shocked at the ending. Wow...what an epilogue (...)I really did
enjoy this novel and I look forward to more from Deborah
O'Connor

When the truth, and its aftermath are revealed, readers will be
left gasping. I admit, I had to go back and reread one section,
because I couldn't quite believe it. This was an ending I never saw
coming!
*For the Love of Books*
OMG.....That final twist is jaw dropping (...) I would put this one
in my top ten reads of the year.I will be very interested to see
what Deborah O`Connor comes up with for her second book because the
twist in this one is going to be very hard to beat

This is another blooming cracking Debut book with, what I have to
say is my top ending so far this year (out of 152 books).
Brilliant. Never saw that coming and very brave
*Amazon.co.uk*
My Husband's Son is a compelling debut from Deborah O'Connor. It is
a twisted, almost voyeuristic suspense novel that will really keep
you guessing until the end (...) it is the first book of many, I am
sure, in a very successful writing career for Deborah O'Connor
*Swirl and Thread*
A fabulous read
*Postcard Reviews*
My Husband's Son by Deborah O'Connor is the best novel I have read
this year. In fact it was so good I literally could not put it
down, and finished it in one sitting. Everything about it is
worthy. From the narrative written in first person, the plot and
the ending
*Goodreads reviewer*
Wow! I really enjoyed My Husband's Son by Deborah O'Connor. This
was one rollercoaster ride of a book! A true delight of a
psychological thriller! (...) it is an amazing book! Way to go
Deborah O'Connor for lingering in my head long after the story
ended!
*Low and Proud Book Junkie*
The characters in this book are complicated and flawed, and so very
human
*A Bookaholic Swede*
Absorbing, moving and with a stunning twist in its tail, this is a
story that will leave your heart broken, your nails bitten and your
brain whirring...
*Lancashire Evening Post*
The smartly layered twists in this psychological thriller will keep
you gripped
*The Sunday Mirror*
This is an interesting debut thriller (...) The skill of the book
is enabling the reader to identify with the emotions the characters
are feeling even if, fortunately, you have never had to experience
a similar situation yourself
*All Things Bookie*
The characters are determined, relentless, consumed and damaged.
The plot is dark, captivating, and full of multiple twists that
took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride, through moral and
ethical dilemmas, until an extremely unusual end that I just didn't
see coming. It is a slow burning story with an insidious
undercurrent, that got under my skin and stayed there. The book is
well paced with many secret side plots that kept me thinking and
guessing but, to me, the best thing about it was the moral dilemmas
that it threw up and which I am still thinking about a few days
after I have finished it
*Breakaway Reviewers*
If you love a thriller with an excellent twist, this is definitely
the one for you
*Hello Magazine*
I really did enjoy this and I'm really glad I picked it up (...) I
found this to be so gripping that I finished it in two days - I
just couldn't put it down
*Sparkles Books*
This is a well-written suspenseful debut that will take readers by
surprise, not least in its ending
*The Sun*
The ending... it's suitably tantalising, twisty and ambiguous
enough to make a shudder run down my spine! (...) This is an
extremely competent and convoluted psychological chiller to satisfy
even the most warped mind
*BeadyJans Books*
This first novel is an accomplished piece of work (...) This good
novel follows the contemporary fashion for 'human story' thrillers,
in which ordinary people are confronted with unusual and testing
circumstances. This one takes its readers on an interesting
journey
*Literary Review*
The last third of the novel moves faster, reveals the broad
answers, and the conclusion is interesting, yielding food for
thought

Books with Allie - 'The secrets in this book makes it a very
interesting reading (...) The ending shocked me (...) and the plot
was great. The author did a great job and keeps the reader really
engaged (...) the characters were also great. The best part for me
was the relation between the characters (...) if you are a fan of
thrillers I'd definitely recommend picking this one up (...) it is
also very well written and kept me engaged the whole time
*Books with Allie*
'Deborah's debut novel is gritty, seedy and the ending totally
shocked me. It got right under my skin and I couldn't shake off the
feelings it evoked in me for days. A fantastic debut novel, I can't
wait to read more by Deborah in the future.'
*Bloomin Brilliant Books*
'O'Connor will make you question your own prejudices, and it's in
the moral complexities that My Husband's Son really comes alive. No
matter what you feel about the main characters, this is a book
you'll want to see through to the end.'
*Crime Review*
A good thriller, eerie and full of suspense (...) I love it when a
character can evoke such a strong response in a reader
