Reviews

Chef Patricia has an amazing understanding of the human body and how food can nourish or destroy it. Her creative ideas and expert knowledge on how to use fresh foods in her recipes is exciting. I enjoy everything that comes out of her kitchen and so happy I finally have her cook book so I can recreate the meals in my own home. --Julianna Crowder, Leander Texas, A Girl and A Gun Club Chef Patricia Cashion catered an event of mine in 2012 at the UMLAF Sculpture Garden in Austin, TX. From the moment I met her I fell in love. Her level of professionalism, dedication and love of food is unparalleled. Chef Cashion had the tough task of making a generally un-paleo friendly audience fall in love with her food- and she succeeded. Her lamb lollipops were a hit and she even made paleo friendly, low sugar cake pops that people were raving about all night! To top it all off, she has a magnificent eye for staging, and designed not only the food, but the table set up in such an elegant and tasteful way that fit the theme of our event. I know my event could not have been as memorable without her. Our guests left feeling full, but happy and energetic! --Lauren F, LafCreative Shoot for Healthy Just imagine thumbing through yet another newly arrived book: they arrive in numbers weekly. Many find their way onto piles for future reading - if and when that should happen. There's a tsunami of information being produced. Not much of it ever grabs imagination. Just one quick look inside Shoot for Healthy cookbook perked immediate interest. Enough that I couldn't put it down. This book demands attention - it's got a lot to say. And by 'a lot' I mean just that. In truth it takes the place of several books all at the same time. How so? My journey into books for learning diet, nutrition and cooking began more than 55 years ago. That's a lot of books over a lot of time. The delightful frustration is that before Shoot for Healthy cookbook I've never had the joy of everything being under one cover - all in one integrated package. Before now you'd get nutritional ingredient facts one place, recipes somewhere else, then have to sort through tables of ingredients tracking down nutrient values, combining and calculating them. Cashion and Taylor have started a revolution by making life far easier, meal planning far less challenging. Pick any page. The dish is name, its ingredient list laid out, preparation instructions given. So far like any other recipe source. Not so fast: note the list of health benefits proudly displayed. To my enchanted liking there's Nutrition Facts looking just like one printed on a package of food: breaking down nutrient ingredients, calories per serving, grams of carbs, protein and fat. There comes a time when meal planning is done in relation to a diet. Then you want calories and nutrients per serving, total for a meal, daily accumulated totals. Shoot for Healthy cookbook has all that right in its sight: on target. After 55 years there's now a book I can't say enough about by way of endorsement and recommendation. At last, at long last... --Ken, Wimberley, Texas, TransEvolutionary Fitness
